Ruaidhri
de Paor is a familar DDC face. He has
already displayed his talents in a variety of roles within the club - director,
actor, committee member to name but a few! Unlike "Jack of all trades and
master of none", Ruaidhri has successfully stepped up to all tasks and
carried off each role with expertise and enthusiasm. This March sees Ruaidhri stepping up to what
he describes as "an interesting and new venture"! Along with 14 other couples, Ruaidhri and his
expert dance partner Margaret Lake will be taking part in Jigs and Reels
2015. This annual event has become a
"not to be missed" event on the Dungarvan calendar and raises much
needed funds for the Dungarvan branch of The Lions Club.
The
Lions Club is well known in the area for its charity fundraising, especially
around Christmas and, in recent years, the Christmas Appeal run in conjunction
with Waterford Lions Club and WLRFM has raised in excess of €150,000 annually. In the last five years however, Celebrity
Jigs and Reels has been a huge success and has raised significant funds for the
Lions Club and its good work in the community. This year the event moves to The
Community Centre in Cappoquin to accommodate the large number of people who
clamber for tickets each year.
Dungarvan
Drama Club is delighted to confirm that the opening night of our Spring
production 'Plaza Suite' will be in support of Ruaidhri's "aon, do,
tri" at the Lions Club Jigs & Reels Fundraiser.
'Plaza
Suite' is a stupendous comedy by Neil Simon and will be staged at Dungarvan
Town Hall Theatre from Weds. 18th to Sat. 21st March. Performance at 8pm nightly. Tickets €12 are
